Dr Chatterjee, organized and facilitated a highly educational program with presentations from the RMHS group SOCA. Thank you to the educators, elected officials and the residents from both Reading and North Reading to made a point to participate this week.

As Select Board liaison to the RPL Board of Trustees, Karen was pleased to be invited to the first in person RPL Foundation event since 2019. The Foundation has made significant contributions to support the library’s mission over the years - most recently the sound booth in the lobby and the digitization of 150 years of Reading’s history.

Reading Composters and Black Earth Composting met with senior staff to discuss expanding the current programs in the context of climate resiliency and reducing trash expenses..

During a terrific visit to the State House, Karen visited each of our delegates’ offices, discussed our community’s flag and options under consideration to improve school renovation funding percentages, and got a surprise tour of the governor’s office.

Connected with engaged Killam moms and Principal Leveque following their successful fundraising event at Fat Larry’s.

Principal Burnham led a tour of our food waste composting pilot program with Black Earth.

Wonderful to reconnect with Principal Marchand and current Coolidge parents for an update on community building efforts.

Caught up with Elder Services Director Jenna Fiorente at Lunch and Learn to discuss Senior Center planning and the need for a “Friends of Reading Elders” 501c.
